Laminate is a multi-layered floor covering based on high-density fiberboard (HDF). Laminate is structured as follows:
1. The Upper protective “wear layer” consists of a mixture of resins with the addition of corundum, which is prized for it’s hardness and durability
2. The decorative “print layer” consists of resin-impregnated paper to replicate the aesthetic qualities of hardwoods
3. The “base layer” consists of wood fibers assembled under high pressure, and provides strength to the flooring material
4. The “backing layer” consists of either foam or cork, and provides a layer of comfort and protection to the flooring
Laminate is a great multi-purpose flooring solution, and can often be found used in residential, commercial and industrial settings where durability is a high priority.

A typical installation includes:
1. Site preparation, which may include industrial vacuuming and foundation repair and /or leveling
2. Installation of an underlayment
3. Installation of the laminate flooring of your choice
